What are your plans after graduation?

My plan after graduation is to pay off my student loans within two years. I really want to accomplish that in order to gain good credit and begin my life by buying a house, car, etc.

What are some of your memories of Augsburg?

The best memories I have of Augsburg are all the moments I’ve spent connecting with my peers and advisors. I believe that these special moments helped me shape my thoughts and ideas, and what I believe now.

How has TRIO/SSS impacted your experience at Augsburg?

I was part of TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge back in 2011 and that really helped me prepare for my time at Augsburg. It gave me the opportunity to take two college courses before fall semester started. My TRIO/SSS advisor, Melody Geiger, has helped me stay on track by meeting with me bi-weekly and giving me tips on studying more effectively. TRIO/SSS has helped me apply for multiple scholarships, which really helped me financially. I know that when I need someone to hear me out Melody is at the top of the list because the more I am willing to open up the more I can be exposed to. I am very appreciative of TRIO/SSS because it has played a significant role in my college career.

What are some things that you wish you would have known earlier in your academic career?

I would have wanted to know who I was earlier, so that I could have accomplished more. If I was more active in the beginning I would have done a double major and a minor in something. I would have also learned about and taken advantage of more scholarship opportunities.

What advice would you give your fellow Auggies?

My advice is to not be scared of the world and growing up because everyone will have to face it one day. The longer you wait, the further you will fall behind. Always challenge yourself and start early in your career. Don’t rush yourself too much in doing something. It is okay to make mistakes because that is how we all learn. Don’t put yourself down too much and go on with life, valuing every moment and time.
